El jarro de agua fría que supuso el retraso de GTA 6 fue el extremo opuesto a lo que los fans vieron en el segundo tráiler. A nivel gráfico y técnico no tiene igual, y Rockstar promete que todo lo visto corre en un hardware de 2020. De locos. Pero el presidente de Take-Two, la editora tras el juego, no rebaja el hype con unas declaraciones que echan más gasolina al fuego.
“Es un retraso muy pequeño, de menos de seis meses, y habitualmente cuando decimos una fecha exacta la cumplimos”, comienza Straus Zelnick en una entrevista concedida a la CNBC. “Pero la clave está en que Rockstar está intentando crear lo mejor que se ha visto en el entretenimiento, no solo en el entretenimiento interactivo. Los consumidores tienen muchas expectativas puestas en él”.
Zelnick sigue el comunicado de Rockstar subrayando que el retraso se debe a “querer seguir puliendo el juego y poder hacer la mejor experiencia posible”. Dese luego parecen bastante comprometidos con su lanzamiento el 26 de mayo de 2026, pese a voces de la industria como Jason Schreier aseguran que no está escrito en piedra y puede que veamos un nuevo cambio próximamente.
Lo que sí queda claro es que Rockstar Games se encuentra enfocada únicamente en la versión de consola. El port para PC llegará en un futuro indeterminado, pero ese trabajo queda relegado a una etapa posterior al desarrollo base, lo que permite que todos los ingenieros estén centrados en optimizar los recursos del motor al hardware de 2020 que montan PS5 y Xbox Series X|S.
